Dana Knox, a transgender African-American woman and former boxing champion Dan "The Fort" Knox, runs the security detail at a shelter for abused women in Texas. She helps its founder, David Wallace, solve the mystery behind his family's tragic death 7 years earlier. But doing so, propels them into a world of murder and horrific crime neither knew existed.
